We can often spend so much time putting

planning and strategy into our clients’ businesses, that we forget to apply it to our own.

So how can the skills of strategy be applied to management and leadership? How can planning make planning better?

This is the tale of how planning helped to improve VCCP’s effectiveness record 170% (whilst snaring the rare IPA Grand Prix), how it helped to find some blue sky, drive for cultural synchronicity internally, and influence culture in the outside world.

Not bad for a year’s work.

But more importantly, good strategy and good leadership are both about planning forwards. So everything I have learnt and built this year, is already forming the blueprint for 2023.

So jog on Brené Brown. I don’t need a book to teach me how to be a strong female leader.

I just need to surface the things I do everyday in the service of our own strategic strength and reputation.
