Alessandra has an international background in advertising and marketing and is obsessed with developing people and growing brands, seeing these as the ultimate levers to a successful business.
She joined Tesco in March 2017, as Group Chief Customer Officer, where she brings together all the disciplines of marketing, advertising, innovation and insight to create strong and distinctive brand propositions. Above all, she ensures customers are at the heart of everything at Tesco. In May 2023 Alessandra has also taken over of Group Innovation on behalf of the Tesco Exec. Leveraging Tesco’s deep and rich understanding of its customers, provided by the insights from Tesco Clubcard, Alessandra is transforming Tesco Clubcard into a future looking platform of engagement, serving customers in a relevant and personal way, as well as an opportunity to engage Supplier Brands to reach their customers more effectively.
In 2022, Alessandra temporarily covered the role of Group Communications Director at Tesco. In 2021, Alessandra was appointed President of the Advertising Association. She was also Chair of Teens Unite from 2018 to 2022. Prior to Tesco, Alessandra worked for Unilever for over 20 years, holding different board-level positions in marketing and general management in Italy, Central & Eastern Europe and the USA. Alessandra started her career in advertising at JWT Milan, as an apprentice straight out of school. She worked in advertising for 12 years in both Italy and the UK. She has two grown up children, lives in London and travels around town on a baby-blue Vespa.
