Just as the pandemic struck, Mark Lund OBE was tasked with the top job at McCann Worldgroup Europe & UK, a vast network across 45 countries, following 4 years of remarkable success leading the UK.
Despite the challenge, Mark united the network behind one unifying mission: helping brands play a meaningful role in people’s lives. He promoted a cross-disciplinary culture and guided the network to solve clients’ problems through collaboration, enabling true business partnership and leading clients through an uncharted business landscape.
The commercial resilience achieved under his leadership, both through new business and organic growth, and for our clients, was exceptional.
Our work focused on brands playing a meaningful role in people’s lives including: “Together We’re Stronger” platform for ALDI/McDonalds’; L’Oréal ambassador Eva Longoria giving virtual tutorials on covering grey hair, Snoop Dogg delivering joy with Just Eat, Kevin the Carrot saving Christmas with Aldi, and IKEA championing the home as a safe haven.
To support our people in a virtual space, Mark led us to provide a raft of innovative, accessible mental health and wellbeing programs, tools and resources for learning and development.
With heightened awareness around systemic racial injustice, Mark oversaw a range of new and revised diversity and inclusion initiatives, driving positive change within the network and industry.
