2020 has taught us so much about ourselves, our industry and our clients. Planning for 2021 – where the only certainty was that nothing was certain – I had to make sure that I capitalised and built on everything I had learnt across the last 12 months.

And what I had learnt was that everything can be improved, adapted, and evolved - moments of rapid change require rapid evolution and no-one wins by standing still. These rapid evolutions set the foundation for an ongoing period of extraordinary growth at OMD; so many steps beyond merely survival in the face of uncertainty.

And so as the current Media Planner of the Year, planning for continued success against an ever-changing landscape, some solid principles had to form the foundations of everything we would do across 2021 - and what better way for a media planner to encapsulate that roadmap than via a planning framework?

It is this framework which has led to our 2021 success and which I am so proud to tell you about in this entry for Media Planner of the Year.
